Tried a very quick and rough manipulate of this photograph, which I particularly like. Notice how I have removed all poles and machinery from the centre of the photo.
The new Photoshop has some very powerful tools which can save a considerable amount of time:

now i think about it the semantics of the photo are lost without the pylons and diggers.
they represented our frustration at being led away from the river and into this metal area. the roundabout was like a mini oasis from all the industry.

Agreed. As a generic photogaph it may look better without them, but the strange pylons are kind of symbolic.
The SGN would also like to point out that you seem to have a very poor grasp on the semantics of the word “semantic”…
